PLEDGESHIP PROGRAM

Our fraternity’s pledgeship program for new members is designed to help them develop the skills and knowledge needed to be effective leaders within our organization and beyond. The program consists of a series of workshops, seminars, and one-on-one coaching sessions that focus on topics such as communication, team building, conflict resolution, and goal setting. New members will have the opportunity to work with experienced fraternity leaders, who will serve as mentors and role models throughout the program. They will also have the chance to participate in hands-on leadership exercises and projects, such as organizing a community service event, hosting a social function, or planning a fundraising campaign.

In addition to the practical skills and experiences gained through the program, new members will also have the opportunity to learn about the values and history of our fraternity, and how these shape our expectations for leadership and service. Overall, our pledgeship program is designed to provide new members with the tools and guidance they need to become confident, competent, and compassionate leaders within our fraternity and across the Southwestern campus.

PLEDGE ACADEMIC PROGRAM

Our goal is to have the pledge class with the highest GPA of the four fraternities and to assist new members in starting their PIKE journey on a solid scholastic foundation. Therefore, the Alpha Omicron pledge classes will be required to complete the following:

  • Study Hours – An academic room will be reserved for the semester as a location for members and pledges to study in the evenings five nights a week (Sun – Thurs). This room will be monitored by the New Member Educator, and pledges will be required to attend at least 10 study hours/week regardless of GPA.
  • Academic Big Brothers – A list of every member with their respective majors and minors will be available to all active brothers and pledges. Upon accepting his bid, each new member will be assigned an Academic Big Brother with the same major to assist in course selection, advising, and tutoring.
